Hybrid photovoltaic power plants

Hybrid PV plants are an advanced type of energy systems that combine photovoltaic (PV) technology with one or more other energy sources or storage technologies to create a more efficient and reliable energy system.

Thus, a hybrid PV plant is primarily designed to generate electricity for household use. These systems consist of both solar panels and an inverter, but additionally include a battery that stores electricity for use during periods when the sun is not shining. Ideally, this hybrid photovoltaic plant is connected to the electricity distribution grid, allowing the household to supply the grid with excess electricity generated.

A well-designed home photovoltaic system is able to cover a significant part of the annual electricity consumption, especially in the spring and summer seasons. In the autumn and winter seasons, when there is less sunlight, the household usually draws its electricity from the utility grid.
