Portable EV chargers

Portable car chargers are the ideal solution for charging while travelling and also when you need to recharge temporarily and without the complexity of installing a charging station.

The chargers are designed for easy charging at home or on the go by plugging into standard household outlets, eliminating the need for complicated installations. With different power levels and safety features, these chargers provide efficient charging.

What is a portable a EV charger

By portable car charger, we can think of a device that charges an electric car directly from the electrical outlets we have at home. Often, in this context, there is a misunderstanding of the difference between a portable car charger and a charging cable. A portable car charger is, therefore, a separate functional unit that you use to recharge your electric car by plugging it into a socket. A charging cable, on the other hand, is used for plugging into a wallbox or when charging from public charging stations.

How does EV charging work using a portable charger?

In this type of charging, communication is between the vehicle and the portable charger. Charging can be single-phase or three-phase, most commonly in the range of 6 to 32 A. However, there is no separate circuit, therefore, in combination with the load on the circuit from other sockets, overloading can occur and thus interrupt the charging by tripping the circuit breaker.

For whom is the portable car charger designed

If you need to recharge your vehicle in places where you don't have access to charging stations (at work, relatives, etc.) a portable charger is a great solution. You can also use the portable car charger if you own a photovoltaic power plant and want to use the surplus energy to charge your electric car. This type of car charger will also be the right choice for you if you prefer to charge during the night, as it usually takes longer to fully recharge the battery of an electric car.

Reasons to buy a new portable charger may be the absence of a portable car charger when you bought your electric car or on the other hand, slow charging from that original portable charger.

Consider your specific needs, budget and most common charging environment. If you prefer flexibility, need to charge in multiple locations, frequently travel longer distances, or your budget is limited a portable charger may be a good choice. If you charge regularly at home and looking for faster charging and advanced features, you may be more inclined toward a wallbox.
